I was just having a similar problem with mine today. If you're going to take it to Sprint I would unroot. I did a factory reset on mine tonight through CWM and it's fine now. It sucks because you'll have to start over but it will probably fix your problem. Sent from a Galaxy far away...

Well, I had Apex and Nova installed at the same time and it happened more often when Nova was set as the default launcher. I'm gonna try ADW and see how that works. Sent from a Galaxy far away...

UPDATE: I couldn't get it to stop freezing so I performed a factory reset through CWM, everything seems good now. Still curious as to what was causing it to keep freezing though. Any ideas?

It's freezing EVERYTIME I unlock the screen so I can't even get into the settings to uninstall the launchers. This is really pissing me off.

Swiftkey is definitely the way to go. I don't like the stock S3 keyboard either. I was used to using the stock 4.2 Jelly Bean one on my Nexus S 4G and Swiftkey is about as close to that as I could find.
