J&R told me "early in the new year" right before I canceled my preorder with them. I made my preorder on 12/4.

I think _everybody_ wants this :) Can only imagine the reason Asus didn't do it by default was licensing costs.

BB removed preorders on Sunday. No need to be paranoid, there's no question that shipments to retailers are being delayed.. :(

And it's still an embedded device, which means the OS will have to kill your resource intensive process sooner or later to keep the foreground processes happy.

Just read a post on XDA from somebody that spoke w/ J&R and it sounds like they're already selling pre-orders for January. Where the cutoff line from 12/19 to "sometime in January" is anybodies guess.. I would just walk into the local Gamestop and preorder one, but I'm pretty concerned about...

I preordered mine from J&R as well, but given that Asus doesn't list them as being one of the primary preordering destinations I'm trying not to get my hopes up. Saved $50 or so by not going through Best Buy but it sure seems like BB is going to get a good allocation of units before J&R would...
