Any camera (at a low F stop) will give a background blur when you take a photo with the camera close to the subject such as you did. Cheers :)

Did you try to “HDR” this or something? It’s got so much ringing (halos) in it. Sort of ruins it for me. Cheers :)

If you’re viewing only on a tiny cp screen maybe it looks kind of ok. Anything screen larger and the ringing and stair stepped artifacts are clear visible. I always view everything on either a 12” tablet or a 24” monitor. Cheers :)

Did you post process this or is it SOOC (straight out of camera) ? There is a lot of ringing (halos) and over sharpening artifacts in that photo.

Since video is so important to you (obviously) I would suggest getting a real camera that has a emphasis on video I realize this doesn’t solve your immediate problem, nor answer your question directly, however it seems quite obvious that you’re getting no where fast and really getting bent...

I assume that you possibly live in the southeast and where relatively close to water (pond, lake, stream, river) with that shot. :)

I’m not dissing the photos, as such, and it’s a great dog, but in regards to oversharping, they all pare oversharpened IMVHO. Any time a photo looks crisp/crunchy etc., that’s a sign. Again no dissing intended, just a observation and comment. It’s pretty typical of cellphone cameras these...

I kinda of like the composition here. Looks like the structures are pouring out from the pass between the rocky hills there, however the massive amount of processing ruins it for me. Way too over sharpened, crunchy and crispy which is always a sign of over sharpening. Anyway good composition...

Yup, no need for “night mode” or anything like that. This is not a dark scene at all. Plenty of light and contrast. Not sure why some are so “amazed” that it’s not night mode or whatever. Cheers :)

Samsung has a history and is well known for over saturating the colors, often to the point of almost blowing out one of the color channels. There is an article about the newest update adding even more color saturation.
