    You have to disable it because it is one of the pre-loaded apps when you get your phone. Click and hold it from the drawer and then drag to disable in the top left.

    You can disable the peel remote app which will stop the notifications

    Hello, thanks for this fix! It is working really well for me thus far. On step 7, where you indicated that the screen on will have to be on for certain apps, I have noticed that the screen turns on for ALL of my apps, not just Gmail. All the other apps don't have the screen on setting selected...

    Thanks! I have the galaxy S6. Long pressing the cog doesn't do anything for me. Is this how I would also access the Google settings?

    I just updated to Android 6.0.1 and was looking over new features and saw that Google settings has been moved to regular settings and there is a new option for system UI settings as well. When I go to my settings neither of those are available. They just aren't there. Has anyone experienced this...
