Actually, I think the OP would do better by getting an S10. Even when the lack of 5G connectivity could be a factor in the future, the fact that he/she doesn't change phones often gives the impression that OP doesn't need the latest technology, or fastest device to go about his/her day...

I would use this argument in the inverse way. Since he/she seems to keep phones for several years, perhaps consider a phone that will hold up better in time. Right now 5G isn't relevant but I guess in 3 years it could be a different story.

sure... basically, i created two profiles: one is triggered by the connection to my car's bluetooth... the other, triggered by the arrival of a notification and turns the display on when this happens... profile one shoots a task called driver mode, which is a job in progress and i plan to do...

Well, I think I figured it out, haven't had the chance to test it in the car yet but it's working with other connections so it should be OK... thanks and happy new year!

In other words, I want the display to turn on for let's say 10-15 seconds when a message is received but ONLY if the phone is connected to my car's bluetooth...

Let me be more specific... when I drive, I put my device in my car mount and away from me... I always have the phone connected to my smart watch, and the phone is in do not disturb state at all time, no led, no sound nor vibration... now, when I get a message, I get a notification in my smart...
