Dock shows as in stock @ TigerDirect through Buy.com

Could be even worse. I have no dock, no tablet :(

    AmazonVOD?

Netflix settled on hardware based DRM for Qualcomm processors back when every high end Android phone was using Snapdragon. I don't think they anticipated the rapid shift to Tegra 2 dual core chipsets. Hopefully, Netflix will switch to a more hardware agnostic DRM solution.

    Worst launch ever?

More like 100,000, which was half of Asus' initially proposed supply if this Electronista article (published a week prior to launch) is to be believed. Hardly in the iPad league, to be sure, but considering that it's taken the Xoom nearly three months to sell an estimated 250,000, I'm impressed.

ASUS Eee Pad Transformer vs Acer Iconia

For me, the purpose of a laptop is the additional computing resources it brings to bear for advanced applications like Photoshop. For lightweight applications, a tablet allows you to use an external keyboard on an as-needed basis. With a laptop, you're always stuck with a keyboard, which is a...

Got the ASUS tablet - Here are a few thoughts

Did you mean the USB adapter wasn't included, of the fact that the tablet lacks a USB port? If you're missing the adapter, are you able to charge it? Personally, I'll never pay for 3G service on a tablet, so I'd rather not have the extra radio circuitry built in. It's nice to see Acer and Asus...

    Case shows up on Amazon...

I'm still waiting for more info on Asus' own case, similar to Apple's, which doubles as an easel and stand. Unfortunately there's no information on it yet except for photos.

Asus eee Pad Transformer Or an iPad 2?

There's a lot I love about my first gen iPad, and I've been tempted to upgrade to the iPad 2, but iTunes is the Antichrist. I don't want any device that requires connecting to a desktop media management program just to activate it. I also dislike the iPad's lack of an accessible file system...

$399 Transformer will have cameras and GPS

The Anandtech review is the best written, most thorough review to date. It did contain the factual error about the lack of GPS, which Anand himself corrected by contacting Asus. Engadget, on the other hand, not only decided to take Anandtech's initial error and post a headline story about the...

    Who's getting one...

You missed the key half of the sentence you quoted. Obviously, many people don't own smartphones. But while I'm sure that there are people who don't own a smartphone but own a tablet, I think they're an extreme minority.

    Who's getting one...

The odds of any two people owning tablets but not owning smartphones are pretty long. And the odds of any two people having those tablets available at the same time are even more remote. You're much more likely to catch someone with a smartphone on them at any given time than catching them with...

    How do you pronounce ASUS?

Maybe I should've mentioned in my previous post that the Engadget video I linked to has a Taiwanese employee from Asus actually pronouncing it the way they do internally. Don't be thrown off by the phonetic spelling on the whiteboard--that's a regional phonetic spelling. Just listen to her...

    Is 16gb enough?

I currently use ~17GB on my 32GB iPad, and ~12GB on my Evo. The amount of storage I use on the iPad hasn't increased much over time, but storage I use on the Evo's microSD card fluctuates a lot, since I'm always adding and removing music and podcasts. Since I'm going to switch to the Nexus S...

Does touch work on screen when docked?

Yes, it does. I've seen plenty of videos showing the touchscreen operation while docked, including the one in the Engadget review.

    Transformer Case

One of my biggest reservations about switching to an Android tablet hasn't been the OS or the apps, but the availability of a form-fitted case. I'm really attached to Apple's stock neoprene case that doubles as an easel and stand (I don't use an external keyboard). This Eee Pad Transformer...
