Thanks. Like i said i turned off tap vibrate and icon was still there, but later icon had gone. Anyway, a vibrate icon, can live with that. I'm pleased with the moto e5 play; cheap, does all I need.

All battery use is Mobile Network Standby. Phone had strong wifi and strong mobile data signal. Makes no difference if mobile data is on or off.

My new moto phone does this, Mobile Network standby drains the battery 1% per hour with everything off (mobile data can be on or off) . Only solution I have found is to use airplane mode when I dont need mobile signal

Yes good mobile signal. At home, good wifi and mobile data was turned off. data saver on and background data off for all apps. Ive seen that others have this problem with Oreo. No battery drain when airplane mode is on.
