Isn't this what the xrandr utility is for? Trying out supported resolutions "manually" .. ? Then (IIRC) there's a function to make the setting permanently. Oh, I know there's been years since you asked the question, but sometimes silly things like this just won't resolve and thread creators'...

Rumor has it that OnePlus 8 will have a curved screen, just like the 7 Pro. I really hope this will be a false rumor, I'm not a fan of this. The design is obviously far from practical, first and foremost in terms of fragility.

On Samsung Galaxy devices, the option to disable some OEM-installed apps are grayed out. Any way to come around this without rooting the device?
