[I] have the same issue on my rooted KF. Did you ever find an answer? Or a workaround? I have OTA Rootkeeper but when I temporarily unroot, I still can't get book functions to work.

I rooted my Kindle Fire over the weekend. I have OTA Rootkeeper, which does a fine job with videos but nothing for accessing my books. I've searched all over the web for a fix with no luck. I was hoping someone would have responded to your question by now, but apparently no one cares about...
