Nope, I kept those on. I have tried maybe a half dozen 3rd party SMS apps and the only one that works is Sliding Messages. I think this is because it still lets the default messaging app get notifications. You have to go into the stock app and turn them off to stop duplicates. Not a huge fan...

Motorola connect works great. However if I use a 3rd party sms app sms notifications don't come through. I think this is because it hijacks the sms notifications. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I used unrevoked to root so I could use wifi tethering. From what I see the Google wifi tether app does not have the evo as a choice to download yet. Is there any other option to get wifi tethering (without paying the monthly cost of course)?

I was able to root using this: unrevoked Worked fine for me. Now I want to put the wifi hostpost app onhttp://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/ I dont see one for the Evo however, is there any other way?
