Why Pixel XL? It has no removable battery, no microsd card. I'd go for LG V20. It seems like a natural progression from Note 4 since Note 5 and 7 are not worthy upgrading from 4.

Re: Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Why do you want to get rid of TW? If you do you will loose some options available only on TW including the camera. You can install Omega Rom which is debloated TW. You loose nothing except Android Pay.

I had this problem a few times. The only solution was clearing cache partition via recovery mode.

That is a disaster. If I upgrade it will be LG V20 or newer. I'm done with Samsung.

It's a hit and miss. It's been way better on Marshmallow though.
