Problem solved! Somehow NFC was turned on. I turned it off, and the sound is gone now. Thanks for all the suggestions!

Thanks for the suggestion. I just cleared the system cache, but no luck. I also checked and don't have any accessibility options on. The sound is kind of like a "do-do-do" ... I wish I could attach a recording!

Thanks, B.Diddy. So I rebooted into safe mode, and it is still playing the sound. However, it is now a lower-pitched version of the sound it plays when not in safe mode. Very strange.

I've had my Nexus 5 for a couple months, and all of a sudden within the last day or two it plays a chime every time I unlock my screen, which is VERY annoying. I can't for the life of me figure out what is causing this. I checked my sound settings, and the screen lock sound option is disabled...
