Help on rooting my Sprint LG Marquee.

DUN should be No. Use the native tethering in Android: Settings-->Wireless & Networks-->Tethering & Portable Hotspot--->Check the box to turn it on. Your cell# is the "network password" when you connect your laptop or whatever. The network will be called LGsomething.

Help on rooting my Sprint LG Marquee.

still don't need to root to tether, even after the update. Assuming you have a different Launcher (I use Launcher Pro, create a new launcher item for activities->com.lge.hiddenmenu->LG Hidden Menu(.LGServiceHiddenMenu_Settings) select "Data Settings" and then the DUN NAI setting tether...

I now love my Sprint Marquee.

still stuck in the Land of No Root...so wishing I had not installed the OTA update.

Has anyone w/ Marquee tried wifi tethering yet?

Pulling this from another thread, for folks who have installed the Sprint ROM update:

    OTA Sprint security update

Unfortunately I did not. I wasn't planning on installing another ROM until they were a bit more developed, so I had not bothered with a backup program. Whoops.

    OTA Sprint security update

And wireless sharing/hotspot is now disabled, which did not require rooting before. Now I am a bit more POd.

    OTA Sprint security update

Apparently Sprint is pushing it out, my phone downloaded it last night. I let it install. Other than I have lost root (grrr), I am not sure what it is done. Found this Sprint Pushing Minor Bug-Fix OTAs To The Kyocera Echo And LG Marquee For a brief insane moment I thought it might be ICS. Wrong.

how is the marquee for typing?

The screen can be a little unresponsive at times. The size is pretty decent though. And as far as replacing screens goes, I have dropped this phone a number of times already, on tile, and it has come through just fine. Swype works fine, I just prefer the regular one.

What did you wish you knew about this phone before you bought it?

Re: What did you wish you knew about this phone before you bought thanks for the JuiceDefender recommendation, I installed it this weekend and it makes a huge difference.

What did you wish you knew about this phone before you bought it?

Re: What did you wish you knew about this phone before you bought What he said ^. Even down to area, I'm right below you in Miami. Not a heavy app user and I don't play video games on my phones. The GSII screen looks a little pixelated to me, the resolution isn't sufficient for the screen...

What did you wish you knew about this phone before you bought it?

Re: What did you wish you knew about this phone before you bought It has a great form, feels good in the hand and fits in the pockets of all my pants. It is easily rooted and unrooted. Battery life is horrendous though I am still trying to improve it. It is easy to use as a wireless tethering...

    Battery Life sucks

I rooted mine and use Autostarts to disable some programs from starting up when I boot it, including the Sprint programs. Not sure if it helps with battery but it's one less thing to task the processor.
