I just got an update about a week ago--to May patches.

There was just a new release for the May security updates. We still don't know how frequent they will be. IMHO it's not that big of a deal if you limit yourself to apps from the Play Store and don't leave the setting to download other apps open.

Is it maybe the cable you're using? Some smaller gauge cables may not offer the same voltage. When you plug it in, does the phone give you a message that it is "Turbopower Connected" at the bottom of the lockscreen? BTW, this is just Quickcharge 2.0 technology, so if you have one of those...

Yes, battery is also an improvement. I went over two days recently and had over 40% left. Obviously I wasn't watching videos or playing games, but I was using the phone for a number of things.

Not sure about the compass comment. You can add a compass app, and it works very well compared to my prior Android phones. Still not perfect, but it works.

I have the Amazon 4GB version, and at the end of June I'm still at January security updates. I'm curious if the non-Amazon version gets them more timely? What are others at right now? (Please post your version--Amazon or not.)

I went from the LG G4 to the Moto G5 Plus Amazon edition after my G4 started having hardware issues. The Moto is far superior in speed, and I love the fingerprint scanner, particularly how it can replace the on-screen navigation buttons. But overall it's much faster--I have the 4GB version.

I'm fairly new the the G4 (about 2 months) and recently I discovered that while the screen is off if you run your finger up and down the display it will (sometimes) display the time and battery status in black and white at the top of the screen. I assume that's part of the double-tap to turn on...
