Most of em dont use the phone to make calls ☺️ Just don't go only by the SOT, there are many other things that consume phone resources and hence impact battery life. On continuous use the S8 + can easily top the endurance game.

Not sure about Exynos, Snapdragon point. It can't be so drastic anyway, right? I agree on the use case point though. We all use our phones differently. I use the Exynos S8+ and i consistently get 10hrs usage over 24hrs between charges. SOT isn't my thing as I use the phone to make calls as well...

If instagram (or any app) was the culprit you would have known already. It would have popped up in the battery usage stats, right?

SOT is tricky and I prefer to measure the usage instead. I do use the phone a lot to make calls. S8 gave me 3.5- 4hrs SOT with 90mins of calls and a total usage of 7-8hrs thru a 16hr day. My S8+ has been clocking 1-1.5hrs more with 90-120min phone calls and lasts upto 24hrs.

Even I have the Exynos model and am impressed with the standby performance esp on wifi. In an 8 hour period, the phone had gone to deep doze within 1 hour. That's impressive compared to my earlier S7 and one plus 3T.

I use Gsam battery monitor Pro for the above stats. Tells u in detail how your phone is behaving w.r.to phone signal, temperature, idle performance (doze and deep doze), cpu etc and Accubattery is also another app I use to get a good idea of charging, discharging pattern and overall battery health.

Not sure about 1&3. I have AOD on, wifi on during sleep ALWAYS but my phone easily goes into light and then deep doze without any hassle. I drain not more than 4-5% over 8 hours in the night. I find the AOD in the S8 series quite efficient and doesn't wake up the device over prolonged idle...

6.2% battery drained per hour will mean 16 hrs of endurance. 44% battery drained in 2 1/2 hours of active usage will mean 7 hrs of usage. This is basically my iPhone 7 rebranded as Samsung S8!

Check this. I had unplugged the device around 8.30 am and after 7 hours I find 'Phone Radio' responsible for 62% of the drain. Been at my office the whole time and signal is pretty decent as you can see. The total battery drained is 1300mAH (44% of the 3000mAH S8) and out of which 800mAH has...

It might help a bit but not to the extent of doubling your screen on. Your S8+ seem to be getting SOTs of my regular S8.

Re: iPhone swichers Moved from the iPhone 7 to the regular S8. Even through my S8 gives 2 hours of extra battery usage compared to the iPhone 7, I already miss the consistency of the iPhone when it comes to battery endurance.

To me 4hrs SOT with 1-2hrs of voice calls is quite impressive. Am using the S8 and not the S8+. The plus seems to be a true SOT champ. I am not sure if the smaller S8 variant can ever do 7 hrs of SOT.
