You're not alone. I've been trying to root my sons Optimus for over a month, he installed the OTA updates and I can't seem to make any sense of it.

Dev has posted the upgrade from 4.2 to 5.0 for Midnight. The changelog on his site appears to be unchanged from the 4.2 upgrade, so I'm wondering. What is the difference between 4.2 and 5.0? It mentions the EC05 modem, but he also mentions that the EC05 modem is not pre-installed in 5.0...

I take that back... It worked for about an hour and then told me my time was up again. Frustrating.

That did it. I had to use SDX removal tool to get rid of Swype as it didn't show under applications anymore, (probably because I flashed the edify version to try and fix). Once I removed that I followed the instructions from the link you posted, and it's working just fine so far. Thanks Cap.

The swype app included in the extras folder "expired" this morning... now what?

I see the app widget picker.apk that was in 1.0 isn't in 1.0.1.... I wonder if that was because it didn't play nice with the update???

I wish I had an ounce of Dev ability. I really want a new theme... Honeycomb is great, but the little visual quirks kill me and Emotionless beast is just too dang colorful... Anybody working on an "ACS no/CIQ" friendly theme I can look forward to?

Thank you very much. Without knowing for sure about the "something else", I'll stick with what I have for now. I had a feeling there would be some mapping issues if I just carried over the shutdown.apk from another ROM. I found one from another phone altogether that included a "recovery"...

What file/apk (or series of files) controls the menu I see when I long press the power button. (As if I want to shut down). I found a menu that I'd really like to use instead of the one provided in my ROM, so that when I long press power, it gives me a few extra options. I just need to know...

Same here - Syndicate seems to have a strong mix of solid battery life and no lag. A few folks reporting bugs here and there, I haven't run into any yet personally other than the kernel / setcpu issue which has already been fixed and is working just fine.
