    Note that I completely forgot that I had installed the GPS Test utility, so perhaps it was that which cleared the problem, and not the power saving change. Note however that I have sent the S7 back due to another problem, and expect to replace it with a different model entirely. (the Note 5).

    FWIW - I tried one S7 Edge example - it was fine. My S7 has gone back - waiting for my replacement, which will be a Note 5.

    The Samsung assistant was able to reproduce the problem, and have authorised my carrier to issue a remedy. I tried yet another S7 example, and it too had the problem. My remedy definitely won't be a replacement S7.

    Yep - I've just got an S7 (non-Edge) and have this problem. I already had WiFi etc enabled, so I've tried DISABLING everything except the GPS and will see how that goes. If I can't fix this quickly I'll be returning it, and will choose a different brand.

    Major 4.2 Problem - Data Signal

    Same problem here - stock Galaxy Nexus on the Telstra network, Android 4.1.2. I reported it to the Telstra "Crowd Support" site, and I was advised to try resetting to factory settings. I have NOT tried this. I haven't checked over there recently to see whether anyone else had any ideas.
