Has nothing to do with the phone. It is your carrier that controls if it needs Mobile Data.

As stated above you can use the Tunein App or iHeart Radio App.

Go to https://towelroot.com/ using your phone. Click on the lambda to start the download. Locate the apk and run it. Once rooted go to Google Play and download either Super user or Super SU and run it. You should now have root.

It is either a bad Charger, USB cord or a bad USB port on the phone. Have you tried a different wall charger or different cord?

You would need to uproot and make sure you have Stock Recovery to get the OTA update. I am not sure if they have figured out a root system for 4.4.2 as yet.
