Use Nova Launcher (do a Google search). It allows a number of home screens but still retrains most all the original ICS functions.

Save your money and buy and Android tablet. If you are a developer, that's where you need to focus.

Thought I'd throw my screens on here. I'm using and loving Nova Launcher with 7 screens! A lot of Android Pro Widgets, Pure News widget, Simi Clock and Beautiful Weather. I also love that ICS blue. Got some MetroStation icons in the appropriate color in the dock.
