I agree with the OP also. Smartphones to me have peaked. The race to the top was won some time ago.

Re: what does it mean when it says "Do you want to replace this app with the factory version." Means by disabling the app all data and any store updates for that app will be removed and the state of the app will return to the factory version.

I'm guessing Susan's phone is not connected to a data or WiFi network?

It could be called by a different name such as "album" or may be hidden if using a launcher. Open your camera app and see if there's an option to open your pics from there. Also restart your phone to see if the app appears.

As far as apps that are not running well with Oreo I ended up paying for an alternative app that wasn't left in the dust after the move to the newest OS.

One issue I've had by moving apps to SD via developer options is that widgets for that app will be disabled. I'm not much of a widget user so it's no biggie for me. All the apps I've moved over do work well. Frankly I see no difference in performance. On my Sony Xperia which has very limited...

You may be able to move all apps to SD by enabling developer options on your phone.

I wouldn't worry about getting Oreo on the Mate 9. I have it now and it really isn't a tremendous improvement. There's a few changes in settings. For me a few apps have been problematic. I ended up factory resetting my Mate 9 and reinstalling favorite apps. Two apps are still hobbled due to...

Try this: Go to settings, about phone, accessibility, scroll to "color inversion (experimental)" and turn off by disabling that setting.

Is it possible to disable Picasa in phone settings and use Google photos as the default upload app?

To clarify is there an SD card in the phone right now?

@b.diddy There is a photo app in Google play named "Picasso" though. Looks like it might be an abandoned app however.
