Flat screen and manageable size won out for me, so I went with the 6. The only feature I wish I had from the pro was the telephoto lens, but I do not use it enough to justify the extra $300.

Ok, just tested my Pixel 2 XL with my Powerbeats. I was able to hear the customer ringtone in my ears when I placed test calls to my phone.

Someone will have to chime in here as I haven't had AT&T for over a year, but when I did, unlocked phones would not get VoLTE or HD Voice. I want to say that with the Pixel 2, this changed, but I am not sure about Samsung phones. Might be worth checking the S8 forums and see if it worked on those.

What about Google Photos? Just download the app on both phones and done. It turns the live photos into motion photos. I am not sure about any loss of quality though for that.
