Not sure if CWR will stop the update from installing but if you are worried, go into etc/security and change the otacert.zip file to something else like otacert.zip.orig. my understanding is that OTA's need the otacert file to install.

i get notification. then i go into gmail and the mail updates like i am on the internet. but my market and browser are not connected to the net unless i toggle wifi off and on. strange.

there are two bars. the stock bar and then the adw bar. are you saying you can designate back and menu keys on the adw bar? i see the back and menu bar in the stock bar but those options go away for some programs like the stock browser.
