Admittedly, I eventually used my "outside voice" today and got a $50 gift card for my troubles. But, legitimately, the store is almost an hour from my house - 2 hours round trip. These kinds of screw ups should have consequences.

I ordered an AT&T S8+ on an upgrade to an existing line. When I stopped in today and they were processing my order(until their register said they couldn't) they were definitely just going to hand it to me. They weren't going to require me to have the mobile center activate it for me. Maybe...

I hope that's true. I ended up talking to the store manager at my location and he told me there was nothing they could do. I didn't *really* *truly* believe he was 100% powerless, but since he gave me $50 gift card to go way, I accepted. :)

I think he saw my picture but didn't read the text. The picture shows me *just about* to receive the S8+ - before the evil POS system (and I'm not entirely sure that means 'Point of Sale' in this instances) snagged it away from me.

I even have a hard time with National Sandwich Day.

From a customer service and PR standpoint - I just think it's ridiculous that their system is telling us to come and pick them up. As I said above, the BB app says NOTHING about the 21st. In fact, it said the S8+ was "Available" 2 days ago. To me, if they are delivery the S8's to people at...

I received an alert from the Best Buy app this morning telling me my phone was "Ready for Pickup." When I clicked on the alert I was taken to the App and when I viewed the order status the attached image is what I saw. I figured that if people on the boards here had purchased the phone online...

I did exactly that. Here is a picture of the Best Buy rep scanning my S8+ just 3 seconds before the register beeped and told him "NOT TODAY BUDDY!" I am anxious to know if anyone was able to get past this. The store manager told me it was "impossible" for them to override it.

I was told by the store manager that they absolutely cannot process the sale. Their system doesn't allow it. I went up the food chain today and used my, um, "outside voice" and the best I could get was an apology and a $50 gift card.

You'll notice I said the app told me it was ready. I...um...er....didn't see the email? ;)

MY IN STORE STORY... I ordered mine online for store delivery. The app notified me this morning that it was ready for pick-up so I went in. Went to the pickup counter and the guy grabbed my phone from their stock. I began to salivate as he laid it on the counter in front to of me...

I can only speak to the AT&T offer...My understanding was that the BB discount was only available when buying on NEXT. There isn't a discount for purchasing outright. The monthly NEXT price was $2 or $3 per month lower than buying throughout AT&T. Maybe that changed?
