I had this a couple of times, I think I just reverted to the default theme the one with the colour gradient splash wallpaper and it fixed it. Probably explained this really badly but hope it helps.

Do you have smart unlock enabled at all as this bypasses the need for fingerprint and won't show the graphic?

Trying to persist with oneUI rather than Nova and it's not awful. Do miss Google feed to the left but set single Bixby press to open my feed. The other thing I miss is hiding home screen folders with a swipe up. I'll keep with it for a while. Edit: spelling

Howdy, A wee spray from a can of compressed air will clean out any debris of that's the issue. Get it DIY shop or office and stationary shops. Ross

Yeah agree, hopefully with EMUI 9 things improve. I use Nova launcher and still can use some of the features like knuckle gestures etc. Only issue is it crashes if you try and add some is the Huawei based widgets.

Yeah really hoping we get it soon, hoping it will freshen things up and prolong my time with it as I just get so tempted by the newness. The pixel 3 software wise and the mate 20 Pro hardware have me really tempted, especially the mate 20 pre-order offers in the UK.

Got my mate 10 Pro in March and obviously had Oreo out of the box. I know Huawei are currently testing a Pie build but to those who had previous phone models when did you get the Oreo update?

I hadn't really noticed any significant drain since updating but went from 41 to 6% overnight which is worrying.

The sleep setting adjusts the screen on time and shutdown after inactivity.

Ah ok with it now. If you go to display settings and into sleep and set the time how you wish.
