When you try to install one of the apps that have already been installed and disappeared does it tell you that it is unable to install the app because it is already installed?

I have a Galaxy S8 with the model number SM-G950U, It is on the most recent Oreo update and I would like to downgrade it Nougat. I want to know if it is possible to do? I am worried that because its an SM-950U on Oreo that it isn't possible because of the locked bootloader but I am unsure...
