I just read in another forum that the MHL to HDMI adapter may be at fault. I got a non-Samsung one. Since getting a Samsung one is not terribly expensive, I'm going to try that, and update here if I get different results.

FWIW, I found that rooting is only good if you're willing to keep the tablet software updated on your own rather than getting updates.

Hey all, I had the same issue. I found an app called Quill that seems to do the trick as far as allowing handwriting while resting your palm on the screen. Hope this helps.
