I got the update from Verizon but haven't downloaded or installed it yet. System update 19. Thought it maybe update to Android Pie.

If you have Verizon just use their text messaging app.

Sigh...using verizon text app is okay but....you cannot set ringtone notification until someone in your contacts messages you....Really hoping there's some patch to fix this if enough people ***** about it to Samsung and Google.

Gonna try TEXTRA. Hate OREO for doing away with this feature of choosing different tones for contacts.

doing a factory reset is always a good thing to do after installing a new operating system.....no problems here after the update....

Rule of thumb is to remove SD card before doing a factory reset. Removing the battery after the reset is good as already suggested. I also read that clearing the cache would also help. ;)

Just FYI not all Sprint stores will install JB for you.

did you do a factory reset after you installed Jelly Bean? that would help because the update was so huge. it's best to do a factory reset. make sure you remove your micro sd card before you do the factory reset.

Sprint will probably get a replacement phone from Samsung.
