I don't remember entering my PIN at any point in the boot process. But then again, I was juggling a newborn as it was updating lol After I rechecked that box in the settings, my nexus does require a PIN for coming out of sleep and reboot. Thanks for the help!

After the update and my nexus rebooted, my screen lock wasn't active. I was just able to swipe to unlock my device after the installation. I had to turn the screen lock back on in the settings.

After I updated my Nexus 7 to Android 6.0.1, my lock screen was disabled. Did anybody else have this issue? I encrypted my Nexus for good reason and this seems like a giant security issue.
