Yeah, i used sugru, which is a moldable rubber/silicone type material. You could just fold up a small piece of paper to fill the gap too for FREE =)

I'm not sure that's a foolproof test (backlight on) because the battery isn't completely disconnected with this fault mode, it's just slightly dislodged. My 7's backlight would very clearly be on when I held the power button down with odd screen behavior (slight digital 'snow').

yup, I just replied to another thread, did you notice that the battery compartment was bigger than the battery? The adhesive they used to hold the battery in place isn't very strong. If you get another chance to open the back up, I'd fill the extra space with some wadded up paper or something...

just an fyi for anyone who's having these kinds of issues, wiredfellow in this thread suggested taking a look under the back cover at the battery connection. I did this on mine and found that the battery compartment is just a touch bigger than the battery and any sudden jolt to one side could...
