What about the new Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, announced at CES. Sony announces Xperia Z1 compact, a smaller flagship with full-size features That seems like the type of smaller phone (comparable to Moto X) that has more future proof capability (micro SD, waterproof, faster specs, etc).
