Aaaaaaand now it fixed itself. This is a pretty annoying issue and I think it may have something to do with the SIM card. When I pulled the back off my infrared thermometer said the SIM card was at 105˚F (battery was ~90˚F).

I definitely had a notification that there was a system update available for my phone. I just hope that by clearing the notification I haven't made it so I'll never get to upgrade to 4.1.83 :(

I have also noticed this issue with Go SMS Pro. I'm using a custom version, and the only checked boxes are Emoji and themes. The only person who complains about me sending them double texts is someone with an iPhone 4. I also do not use the quick reply feature.
