[Closed] Win a Nexus 6P from Android Central!

Would love something more reliable and up-to-date than the Moto X 2014!

    A Better Camera App?

May be Blasphemy, but if I want better HDR, or "Lens Blur", I use Google Camera. Everything else, I stick to the native CM camera.

On my OnePlus-One: why is my Gallery eating my battery?

Re: Gallery eating my battery... +1 on the syncing. Once I removed the additional accounts (especially G+ where I have 80k photos), Gallery was much more responsive and used far less data. Since I have Google+ and Google Camera installed, I can rely on those apps to show me my online photos...

    Emergency alerts on 1+

I haven't gotten Cell Broadcasts on my 1+ yet either, whereas my wife's Nexus 4 was going off quite regularly in the same room.

Weekly Photo Contest: Focus and Blur

Source of one of my favorite smells. A pair of lemon blossom cling to a lemon tree; one slowly losing its petals. There's only a few left for the season, and they're dropping off quickly! Taken with a Nexus 4 using Lens Blur, then edited in-camera for crop, vignette, exposure, and center sharpness.

    Weekly Photo Contest: Night

Taken at the Amazon Seattle HQ a couple weeks back showing support for Seahawks 12th Man using my Nexus 4 in HDR mode.

Buy or win, I'm good either way... and my Nexus 4 can be handed down to my oldest.

Customer Satisfaction Email Survey rolling out this AM about play store experience yesterday

Because I had to get a friend to buy it on my behalf (I couldn't get one into my cart for at least another hour), I won't be getting a survey. Thus, I'll provide some feedback here. In addition to observing failure modes and then ramping up capacity (if possible), future releases could be made...

How long does a Nexus last?

I grabbed my Nexus S on release-day. While it's still generally a capable phone, the lack of RAM with Jellybean is starting to reveal the upper-limits of the device, as is the aging single-core Hummingbird CPU. Using the phone with several background apps (Exchange mail, Facebook, Gmail, Google...

    SIM card size

For those on T-Mobile, the Micro-SIM is $0.99 online + tax w/ free shipping when you order a pre-paid activation kit. Use that SIM kit and update the registration online using my.t-mobile.com, or activate the new SIM as-is if you're going the prepaid route. The same card in a retail store will...

Quick and dirty Wifi signal test

Oh thank goodness - the Nexus S is horrendous at Wi-Fi reception, so it seems to be a Samsung trait to use poor-gain antennas. Looking forward to this improvement! Let's hope that RSSI on the graph translates to usable throughput at a greater distance though.

    nexus 4 micro sim

Was this a corporate T-Mobile store or a T-Mobile branded 3rd party store? I imagine if you walk into a T-Mobile corporate store, they wouldn't try to charge $10. I'm currently on a Value Plan and plan to order the 99? version online, then use my.t-mobile.com to update my SIM number online.
