Could be something to do with "Always On Display". Other phones you mentioned do not have that ability. Either way... Nothing to be alarmed about. All is well.

I, too, wished the stock message app would display the text fully when in arrives such as my LG G3. What made the G3 a bit more pleasant was the ability to swipe left or right to each text messages to view/response and not limited to 3 message like our S8 series.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there is an option to stop auto play while viewing in gallery. I hope they change this.

You don't need 3rd party application. It's built within our phones. I just enabled this option myself. Forgot about, but it's really useful.

Re: Well, how many of us are going to wish we waited Perfectly happy with my S8+. Going to be used for at least 2 years before I change to something else. I'm not the type to always chase the "latest and greatest" of things. That's an endless circle of chasing your tail to say.

I just noticed this too. Makes me wonder if they took it out? Although I have not used this feature for a long time, but it is something that is nice to use when needed.

I disabled edge panel since day one of getting the S8+. Have not found any usage for me.

I recommend SwiftKeys as well. Resize the keyboard aspect that meets your needs and you'll be fine. I used the largest resize option on my S8+ and love it. Plus give the keyboard awhile so it'll recognize your typing style and adjust to it.

Mine works perfectly well since release date. Long term usage is definitely in my books. I'm talking about 2 years at least.
