Wondering if there are any cases that replace the stock back on the phone? Looking for more protection around the sides but would prefer not to out a case on top of case if you get my meaning. Thanks!

I didn't get a vw cable but bought a new Anker braided cable off amazon which originally retailed for £20. Still made no difference. (does go very nicely with the red stitching in my car though!)

Bizarrely I found that if I could get AA working once when plugged in, even if I unplugged and replugged back in it would have a better chance of working again. However it would just fail again the next day for no reason when using the car every time.

Also in IT (though with kids and family I don't get to play with my car as much!) currently waiting on Skoda UK to get back to me on what they can do to help with system. Good to know from you that it seems to be the MIB2 VAG system that is likely the issue rather than my phone.

Comforting to know that other people are having issues... Commiserations. Annoyingly I plugged my wife's iPhone into the car and it "just worked" Something to do with car play being native and android auto being an app?

Try a different cable too. Sometimes that makes a difference.

Have a G4 as well. (UK Vodafone) I went back to factory reset and android auto worked a better (still some failures to connect) but after installing all my apps. It progressively got worse and worse. I'm taking it up with Skoda right now, for me at least it's not fit for purpose.

That's pretty much what I get with my Skoda octavia too. It seems to be some combination of apps which conflict with AA, but haven't been able to pin down which ones.

Mine also only connects to Mirror link. Tried forcing it to use android auto but still no joy. Any ideas?
