The Nexus 'Brand', Carrier Dilemma (Verizon, T-Mobile)

With this, I'll finish up: I'm definitely moving back to Tmobile. Apparently this morning, Verizon pulled a real dick move with user privacy: all VZW users are opted INTO a new agreement where VZW can sell your web browser history and device geolocation with marketers, and their opt-out service...

The Nexus 'Brand', Carrier Dilemma (Verizon, T-Mobile)

Thanks everyone, pretty quick unanimous replies, and I appreciate everyone's input. Anyone know if the unlimited data on the $45/mo plan includes 4G? I can't imagine they'd be too quick to sell a pre-paid SIM on that plan when there are other plans available? If it's pre-paid, do I have to keep...

The Nexus 'Brand', Carrier Dilemma (Verizon, T-Mobile)

Hey all, I left T-Mobile last December to switch to Verizon to get the Galaxy Nexus, and wow what a rollercoaster that has been with late updates, Google Wallet, bloatware, etc. Then I got the free GSM model Galaxy Nexus at Google IO. I've been a "Nexus" user since the Nexus One, and have...

Insurance/Protection - Verizon vs Best Buy

Not for my Nexus S. They wouldn't replace it on the spot a few months ago, they had to send it back and I was shipped a refurbished phone, not my own phone repaired. Good thing I back up frequently. I was without my Nexus S for about 5 days.

To Do the Amazon 0.01 Deal or Not?

I've debated this myself, especially if amazon can do that "double data plan" setting (or get Verizon to add it after the fact)... and if I decide to get the Nexus, I wonder if I could return the phone to Verizon and swap it for the Nexus.

Calling all OG Droid/Nexus S owners to GN

Sorry, hit submit too quickly. My biggest beef with the Nexus S was lack of removable SD storage. Granted, the internal memory was crazy fast, but when my Nexus S needed to be RMA'd, I lost everything on my "SD" storage partition. That, and lack of 4G on T-Mobile, of course. But Gingerbread was...

Calling all OG Droid/Nexus S owners to GN

I switched from an iPhone AT&T to TMobile to get the Nexus One, and stayed with them for a Nexus S, but I think I'll be switching to VZW for the Galaxy Nexus when it lands. I've been a fan of the Nexus S, though I always found the wifi to be a little underpowered. What remains to be seen, of...

Is the Nexus Prime suppose to be better than the Bionic?

The Verizon store I went into wouldn't show me a working Bionic, just the floor model with the sticker screen. They said they couldn't show one off without actually activating it. Sad. The sales guy even tried to 'promote' it by saying it had already been rooted.

[Closed] Win our Sonos review unit package

Thanks again for the Lookout tickets before Google IO. I'd be happy to take this stuff off your hands.

    10.1 Root Expectations?

For what it's worth, someone rooted the 10.1" tablet we got at Google IO by 3am Pacific time on Wednesday, probably about 12-15 hours after receiving it. I saw a blog post on it somewhere, might have been at AndroidPolice. Very simple instructions, but haven't tried it yet.

[Closed] Win one of 20 tickets to Lookout's 'Party your apps off' in San Francisco.

While I'm suspicious that AC will even get 20 replies in here because IO sold out so quickly, I'd love to hang out and party on the 9th. I'll get a colleague of mine to get himself an account here as well and post a follow-up since we're carpooling up to the Bay area early on the 9th. I'm always...

    Launcher freezes

I bought ADW Ex and tried LauncherPro as well, and both kept crashing *constantly* on my Nexus, so I switched back to the stock launcher, but haven't really noticed any slowdown like the OP mentions.

    No Notifications When plugged in?

Confirmed on my Nexus S as well... it's plugged into a PC for charging, not mounted, and no notifcation sounds were made. This might be related to the ringtone bug. Someone else mentioned on the Google bug report page that their ringtones, etc., got reset to default/random tones (or set to...

Spontaneous reboots, "missing" data like photos

Yup, I starred that one about a week and a half ago along with others, like the ringtone issue, etc. Thanks for the reminder!

Spontaneous reboots, "missing" data like photos

I found a widget last night that will allow me to unmount my USB Storage without needing root, but Astro File Manager didn't show any files under the old /mnt/sdcard/ path. What's funny though, after I realized last night that none of my missing photos were under /mnt/sdcard after an unmount...
