The magnet is attracted to the metal that is inside the rubber ring. Install a Compass app onto the phone and bring the phone next to the charger while the compass is running. There is no effect. Remove the phone from the charger and bring a magnet next to the phone and the compass will respond.

I'm 99.9% sure there is no magnet and I'm glad there isn't. A magnet would interfere with the compass in the N4, even after you remove it. You would be constantly calibrating the compass after charging.

My N4 sleeps with one eye open. The display dims after the preset time but never goes completely out while connected to the wall charger. Also it never goes into dream even though I set it to dream while charging or docked or both. Anybody else have this problem? This is my first post here -...
