LG G Pad 8.3: Good case yet?

Re: Good case yet? This hard EVA case should fit, although it might be a little too wide. The tablet does get strapped in with velcro, so would that matter? It's for a Galaxy Note (211 x 136 x 8mm) or Motorola Xoom 2 (217 x 140 x 9mm), and the G Pad is 217 x 127 x 8mm.

LG G Pad 8.3: Good case yet?

Re: Good case yet? Are there any hard cases about? Too many of my friends have had tablets die due to being bashed, despite being in one of those basic faux leather cases. I've currently got a Nexus 7 2012 in a great EVA hard case from iGadgitz, and am thinking of getting an LG Pad, but...

Should I upgrade my Nexus Tablets?

I upgraded my Nexus 7 (2012) and it's turned out so badly that I'm considering selling it cheaply to my boyfriend and buying a different tablet. Battery drain, general lagginess, keyboard responding very badly, several apps not working or working very badly.

Reverting from Android 4.4 to 4.3...

Thank you, that makes a lot more sense. I knew I'd seen something about how a factory reset wasn't the answer, and indeed, if it were, why would so many people be having this discussion? By now it sounds like a factory reset is worth doing anyway, whether I keep the tablet or pass it on to my...

Reverting from Android 4.4 to 4.3...

Asus say that a factory reset should restore it to Jellybean, and then I simply don't accept the invitation to update to KitKat when it turns up. Surely people here have tried that? What happened? I don't want to mess around with that (it'll take hours, and I'll lose app data) unless it's got...

Reverting from Android 4.4 to 4.3...

I'm pretty ill today, so I'm not able to make much sense of the replies, I'm afraid. (This is another example of why I'm not up to rooting my tablet: I have substantial cognitive disorders.) Anyway, KitKat (now 4.4.2) continues to be rather horrible on my 2012 Nexus 7. Boat Browser has got...

Reverting from Android 4.4 to 4.3...

Yep, this is what I was wondering. Thanks for letting me know. It's strange that the problem seems to be worse on Nexus models, though. Do you have any idea how long it's likely to be before Google fix this? More to the point, is there anything I can and should be doing now, while it's still...

Reverting from Android 4.4 to 4.3...

"As simple as you're going to get" doesn't mean that they can be safely and reliably done by people who have no idea how to do any of this, though. I'll trust the many people on this thread who've said that it's not safe for beginners, if you don't mind. A friend who does do this sort of thing...

Reverting from Android 4.4 to 4.3...

I'd love to revert to 4.3, but I clearly don't even begin to have the level of knowledge necessary for the job. Unless there are serious fixes, the changes are making my tablet extremely difficult to use, and may even make it unusable. For instance, I can't really use it for internet browsing...

List your problems faced after kitkat update

Boat browser no longer reflows/wraps text when you increase the font size. I'm visually impaired so this is crucial for me. Help, please? Also Fancy Widgets isn't displaying properly, but that'sa minor inconvenience.

    Best browser for KitKat....

I've been using Boat for a year, but the text reflow/wrapping no longer works now that I've upgraded to Kitkat. I'm visually impaired and need quite large text, so this is a deal breaker for me. Is there any browser that will reflow text as Boat used to? Failing that, can I downgrade back to...

Quicker way to switch between user accounts on a Nexus 7?

I've fallen in love twice this year. (Though in different ways.) In January, I acquired a Nexus 7, and in July, I met my boyfriend. Yesterday, I suggested that we put a user account for him on the tablet, so that he could have quicker access to his own email, writing and so forth. This we...

    Quality of keyboard cases?

Very late reply: I never ended up using it. The keyboard is just a nightmare, and I don't type on it that much when I'm out of the home. When I'm at home, mostly I use it without a keyboard, and when I do want to do some serious typing, I plug in an ordinary, cabled keyboard (albeit a...

Thinking of getting an 8" tablet to replace my Nexus 7

We made it to John Lewis on Saturday, and I got to play briefly with a Galaxy Tab, and at more length with a Galaxy Note in a quieter room. The problem is that I was tired, the lights were blinding fluorescents, it was crowded and noisy, and I was going into sensory overload. Even with my...

Thinking of getting an 8" tablet to replace my Nexus 7

When you say that you find it just as easy to hold, do you mind my asking how tall you are? Because at my height, small amounts can really make a difference! There's a point at which something sits comfortably in your hand, and there's a point at which you're stretching unpleasantly. Anyway...
