It's arriving for me today, so I'll let you all know how it turns out.

Only thing I've found is to use a third-party messaging app, since that seemed to be the only instance in which it occurred. Textra has an option to disable that and it seems to be working out fine.

Lately I've noticed that the screen turns on whenever I receive a notification. I'd rather just the sound or vibration, but not for the screen to wake up. Any ideas?

I've stopped receiving notifications on my AOD. Any ideas why and how to remedy that?

SIAP, but you can download the s note from the Google play store and the extensions from the galaxy app store. That's what i did and it's been working out tremendously for me.
