Android Auto won't play music on phone

But when you turn off assistant nothing works. Or at least that was my experience. It forces you to have it on and updated to use AA.

Android Auto won't play music on phone

I recently found an Android player that has FF/RW, it's called "jet audio". It looks like it actually has separate physical buttons mapped to those actions in the player UI, so that's why it works in AA. Just hold down the skip buttons and it'll FF/RW as you'd expect. I agree that Android Audio...

    App request

You have to contact the app developer to see if they will make it compatible with AA.

Android Auto won't play music on phone

I tried the UK language change as well, but unfortunately I had to change it back. The voice commands worked perfectly, but it also changed everything else on my phone to UK. Temperature was in celcius, google feed articles were pulled from UK sites, the dollar sign on my keyboard was changed to...

Android Auto won't play music on phone

I tried that this morning and it either errored out or added "from my library" to the end of my request.

Android Auto won't play music on phone

The OP's title is referring to the same thing I'm saying. They're trying to play music that was uploaded to the Google play music service and downloaded to their phone via Google play music. The fact that it's downloaded shouldn't change anything since the songs still show up in the app if you...

Android Auto won't play music on phone

I'll say it one more time, it's music uploaded to Google play music. It's not random local files.

Android Auto won't play music on phone

But our point is that it worked before this update. Our music is in the "cloud", uploaded to the Google play music service and downloaded to our phones by the Google play music app. So this isn't just music we copied over to our phones, this is music on Google's servers.

Android Auto won't play music on phone

Do you have an active play music subscription? That could be why you're not having issues. It stops us because we don't have one. It's also only playing songs from their service, so if you have a song downloaded that's not in their service, try voicing it and see if it plays.

Android Auto won't play music on phone

I emailed Google support and they said they are "looking into this bug". From what in understand though, this bug has been there for months now with no fix. Unfortunately, Google is probably in no hurry to fix it since it forces ignorant people to subscribe to their crappy service (I prefer...

Android Auto and using Phone at same time

It still locks you out when you're parked. On my S8, I've remapped the Bigsby button to be the recent apps button, so I just press that and then home and it takes me back to my homescreen and I can use the phone like normal. I'm not sure how the note 8 is setup, but you just need to get to the...

browse music library - no go it seems.

Gotchya. The album thing bothers me as well, there is no "go to album" voice command and there is no text field for the album name. The artist command does work ("Play <artist> on Google Play Music") but I'm also only pulling from my downloaded library, it may function differently using their...

browse music library - no go it seems.

I've been happy with it. The voice commands work well and aside from some missing features (no FF or RW most notably), it's much better than Bluetooth or the OEM unit. What are you trying to do that you can't with voice commands? If you're parked or stopped, you can always pick up your phone...

browse music library - no go it seems.

I believe it's handbrake. I have an oem head unit, so I'm not sure how it's wired, but I have heard of people bypassing the lock by changing how it's wired. No idea how well that works though.

browse music library - no go it seems.

That's odd, it will normally stop you after 5 presses if the system detects you are not in park. So anything that involved more than 5 presses (scrolling through pages of playlists or radio stations) would be locked out at the 5th press with a warning that said "to continue browsing, please...
