    Note 8 in 2017

Re: CONFIRMED: Good news :) Samsung Will Release Galaxy Note 8 in 2017 I will never pre-order another Samsung phone.

Was the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 a target of Industrial Sabotage?

Or maybe poor design. What bothered me about the first recall was how quickly the CPSC decided that Samsung's position that only batteries manufacturered by one vendor were faulty and the source of the fires. I wonder now if we will ever know what really happened.

Old Information about the Note 7 Recall

Re: What would you replace your Note 7 with? I don't know how many of you remember my "sad" story posted here, but within a day of my 2 year contract ending, my Note 4 got some condensation inside the case from going from a hot sunny location to a cold air conditioning room. Despite...

Thinking about switching to iPhone 7

Well, I just got my iPhone 7+ after successively having a Galaxy S4, a Note 4 and sadly my returned Note 7. And iOS is still the poor cousin of Android. But the differences have narrowed in my opinion and I don't see the Note 7 as having any advantage over the iPhone 7+. The selection of...

Power Down and Don't Charge Note 7 per The Consumer Product Safety Commission

Re: Will Note 7 be the troll under the bridge to Samsung or will they do right by it? Oh wow, "articles". You mean like the ones being written now about the Note 7?

Power Down and Don't Charge Note 7 per The Consumer Product Safety Commission

Re: Will Note 7 be the troll under the bridge to Samsung or will they do right by it? I have no idea why you think that the Note 4 was "neglected". The Note 4 was probably the high point of Samsung phones.

Power Down and Don't Charge Note 7 per The Consumer Product Safety Commission

It is a technical fix. You may see it as some type of corporate harassment, but the idea is to prevent complete charging. If Samsung wanted to make you angry, they would just force all the Note 7 phones into emergency mode. Anyway my point was that Samsung either should do this everywhere...

Power Down and Don't Charge Note 7 per The Consumer Product Safety Commission

The wording of the source article is unclear on that point. But if the fix is limited to Korea, then Samsung is making a blunder of providing a publicized safety fix in one market and not worldwide.

Power Down and Don't Charge Note 7 per The Consumer Product Safety Commission

I don't see how Samsung would know this without further, detailed investigation. All that they have said publicly is that the Note 7 batteries manufacturered by Samsung SDI have a flaw. In any case a device should be designed to fail safe. Lithium batteries are presently designed such that if...

    AT&T Note 7 Recall Thread

This is what I was told also when I returned my Note 7 to the AT&T store. There are no "loaner" phones.

Re: Note 7 Ban At Work It's 35 or 40 failures over a very short period of time. What if the probability of battery failure increases over time? Most systems fail more frequently as they wear out.

How I accidentally killed my Note7 while preparing for the recall.....

Besides, if the Note 4 had problems like this when first introduced and the problem was soley with the battery, wouldn't have the exchange process been simpler?
