How does the Pixel 2 make my Google life better than an iPhone?

My information might be outdated, but I can relate the reasons why I returned my iPhone 6 a few years back after 2 weeks with it. 1) Most actions seemed to require more taps, 2) the iPhone was constantly asking for my Apple password, 3) Siri always used Apple apps for navigation and music by...

    Potential pixel noob

Which is really annoying. Google Now could read messages, but Assistant can't (yet).

Transfer your music to Play Music playlist(s) (up to 1,000 tracks per playlist). Download the playlist(s) to your Pixel. In Play Music settings (on the phone) turn on "Downloaded only" (turns off streaming). Tell Assistant "play music." Your downloaded music will play in shuffle mode.

    Anyone going naked?

I'm just using tight-fitting underwear (in keeping with the metaphor) to keep some junk in place. I bought the thinnest case I could find, just so I could stick a little piece of metal between phone and case for use with a magnetic car mount (which I cannot live without). I, myself, am going...

Returning Best Buy XL and buying from Google

All good reasons, except for the update reason. The updates come out in random order fashion. If you're lucky, you get your update on day 1; if unlucky, you might be waiting till day 21.

    Anandtech article rips Pixel

The numbers do not lie. Then again, having used the 6p for the past year, I find that my Pixel is a marked step up in my experience. It's simply faster at getting everything done, and the battery lasts all day. I also used an iPhone 6 a couple of years back, but couldn't stand the UI (no way...

Smaller Pixel battery life vs Moto X (2013)?

I had a 2013 Moto X, and I would have to say the battery life on the Pixel is marginally better. I used to consider the Moto X the best phone I'd ever used (compact, fast, nice added Motorola features). The Pixel is the new champ. I just wish Google could copy Active Display. They tried to do so...

Anyone using pixel coming from iPhone?

Re: Anyone using pixel coming fro iPhone? If he likes iOS, why should he bother? Simply, iPhones are great if you want Apple services; Pixels are great if you want Google services. I choose Android because I prefer Google's services, and although the iPhone can use Google services, integration...

Smart Lock -- Less Smart on my Pixel than my old 6p

I have one 'smart lock' set: location - home. All other smart lock settings are off (no trusted devices, on-body, voice, face). Twice at work over the past week I find that my phone will not lock at work (work is a bit over a mile from home). If I restart the phone, the problem goes away, and...

Any pre-existing Fi users having trouble with activation?

I had Fi on my 6p. Put in the sim, and the Pixel activated right away.

    Couldn't be happier

Same here. The Moto X comparison is apt, I think. Were it not for security concerns (lack of updates), I might still be using my Moto X today. That was one nice phone. Still kinda irks me that Google can't competently mimic Motorola's active display. But this 5 inch Pixel is a keeper.

    Hows your battery life?

Without citing any stats, I can say that I'm seeing about the same battery life on my 5 inch Pixel as I was seeing on my 6p. It's off the charger at 4 or 5 am, i use it throughout the day for work, news, and podcasts, and by 9 pm or so I'm typically down to about 20%. Like any other phone I've...

Pixel Owners vs Pixel XL Owners

Same here. I missed my small phone. Coming from the Nexus 6p, the Pixel feels just lovely. I can now wear Levi's and sit down at the same time!
