Why is my storage so full?

Something is really sucking up the space here. There are apps in the play store that you can use to find space hogs - if it were me, that's what I would try next.

    Replacing screen

I doubt that using an S4 screen would work. There are places that can replace broken screens - I used one in the past with my S5. It only took about an hour, if I recall correctly. If it were my phone, I would start by looking into that.

why won't my samsung galaxy s7 charge from my portable charger anymore?

The first thing I did when I got my S7 was to get a couple of wireless charging pads. I rarely use the USB port.

    Software update

Almost certainly a backlog of updates. In Settings->About Device->BaseBand Version, there will be an identifier that tells you what version you are currently on. As you apply each update it should change. You might be able to google the string and match it up to when that version was...

    Issue Download Update

A few months ago I got my S7, and I went through a seemingly endless series of udpates. I got one installed, and it would reboot and say that there was another. The key really is that the updates are not cumulative. So you have to suck it up and install one update after another - maybe a...

    Verizon S7/S7 edge Oreo update

My reaction is "Meh". The phone still works the same as before, but I haven't found any new features that really excite me in any way. It will take a while to get through testing all of the edge cases - I sure hope that Android Pay didn't get broken again. Then again, I kind of got used to...

    Verizon S7/S7 edge Oreo update

Interesting. In the past, the most time consuming part of the updates were the step where it "Optimizes" all of the apps you have. What this did was optimize a subset of them, and then start the phone - the rest are finishing in the background. The graphics for wireless charging changed. No...

    Verizon S7/S7 edge Oreo update

Yeah, mine too. Would have been nice if they had offered to download later when I got home and was on WiFi, but it was about 80% done by the time I noticed that it was doing this. Back on the charger it goes.

    Verizon S7/S7 edge Oreo update

That's not the Oreo update - that's just a vanilla security update, and I already have it. I just checked - nothing available now for me for Oreo. But as others have noted, Verizon sends these out in batches.

New to Galaxy S7 in 2018

Sometimes the updates cause more problems than they solve. That's how it was with the old S5 I had. Each update seemed to use up a bit more storage, and used up a bit more RAM, and gradually the phone got slower and slower.

New to Galaxy S7 in 2018

I recently upgraded to an S7 myself - I got reconditioned for about 220$ or so, I think. I was coming from an S5, and I was tired of the horrible slowness of the thing. I had exhausted the storage, so I was juggling on the SD card, and it only had 2Gb of RAM so the thing was constantly...

Phone is asking to do a system update repeatedly... how do I fix it?

I went through this with an S7 the other day - here is a useful tip. If you go into Settings->About Phone->Baseband version, you will see an identifier. My phone is Verizon - the current version for the 04/01 security update should be something like G930VVRS4BRC3. I had installed several...

WiFi Calling Is Back ! Check Your Phone For HTC Updates !

I guess I am trying to figure out what the specific value of this feature is - I can make calls over WiFi, but it uses the minutes from my plan. Alternatively I can use the Skype app and not use my minutes. The only thing that WiFi calling seems to buy me is the ability to use the same number...

    Cases for Amaze?

I just ordered a bunch of accessories from Amazon - most of which were ridiculously cheap. None of them have come in yet, so I can't make any specific recommendations.
