My AT&T Samsung S5 just had a big update, not sure exactly which but it's now Lollipop 5.1.1...AA is working MUCH better. No more startup issues for the last couple of days - no complaints at all.

I use textra on a Samsung S5 and Kenwood 9902S - text alerts come through reliably. The only frustration is when I say "reply" and it gives me the definition of "reply" (the correct response is apparently limited to "respond"). :confused:

That's what I did eventually figure out. However, I can't start google maps while AA is enabled. Although I can move around in my apps, GMaps immediately minimizes if I try to start it while connected. With regards to the "cannot connect right now", I haven't seen that - but I permanently...

That has not been my experience with a Kenwood DDX9702. The maps read really well at day and at night (although I had to do some wrangling to figure out how to make it dim enough at night). What car / head unit are you using?

Performance on my Kenwood and Samsung S5 has noticeably improved over the last few days particularly with the mysterious start/stopping of any playback. Does anyone know of a glossary of voice commands that are available?

Listening to a previously downloaded podcast this morning on dogcatcher, playback just randomly stopped 5, maybe 6, times on my 9 mile 12 minute drive. I have to click play to get it going again each time.

I have found that startup issues seem to go away if I unlock the phone before I plug it into the car. My message stack issue just went away as well. While it doesn't keep reading the same messages over each time, it still doesn't mark them as read - but at least I don't have to hear them again...

I've got an aftermarket Kenwood unit and a Samsung S5 and getting AA to start is a very random experience (and frustrating). Waking the phone up sounds like a great thing to try and I'll start trying that! Thanks for sharing your solution.
