JVC HA-ECX20, with a 3,5mm connector. I also got a similar Philips headphone, samme result. The ones that broke was a unknown brand I had for years, these worked perfectly. But I don't know the brand, type so I don't know if I can buy the same again.

These are just simple wired ear phones. No smart buds. I am beginning to think these earphones might have a built in mic that might trigger the pop ups. Then again, it also happens when I dont't make any sound.
