If someone were to plug in a Wifi-USB dongle onto the USB port that normally receives the USB connection from the phone, how difficult would it be for someone to write a program makes the USB port on the dongle mimic the USB output of the phone?

I would love to be able to step into my car, start it up, and have Android Auto launch without having to pull my phone from my pocket and plug in the USB cable. My hope is that a simple bluetooth (or WiFi) to USB receiver/dongle will do the trick, but somehow, I'm betting that is just too simple...
