I've had the same issue, where the phone becomes completely unresponsive between 1 and 10 (yes! 10!) Seconds. During that time the volume buttons work, and sometimes turning it off will make it come o its senses. I'm coming from an iphone 5 and am kinda bummed out that this newer phone feels...
