Is there a way to write a function into your tool so that if one host is down that it can pull from a secondary host?

Boot into hboot you power off the device, then power it back up holding volume down + power button.

Sounds like you did everything correctly. I just received a new TH from asurion and used this tool to root it and everything went perfect. The only difference is that mine was unrooted stock beforehand.
