I thought it was an okay browser but the pinch to zoom is HORRIBLE!!! I will stick with xscope for now it does everything I want in a browser, but will likely keep sxyfire in case there is a video I want to watch that the other browsers can't play
It is possible to get the black notification bar without installing a custom rom/theme but you still need to be rooted. It is a little bit on the advanced side and requires you to push files and images onto the phone.

yea, i did run cyanogen for a little bit, but thought i liked the stock feel with the extras of being rooted.. can you use those kernels for a basic version or do those only work for the custom roms?
I had flashed mine to 2.01 stock using the spf method then there is a way to upgrade to 2.1 from there that will give you root access.. check out droid-life.com. Kellex has some good tutorials as well as videos, dont have the links at the moment though, but should be easy to find
