That's Show Notification Icons, correct? I have it set to None, because I don't like the status bar to be covered in icons. I'd rather it be blank and then I swipe into the notification panel bar to see them. it's rare I don't have any notifications lol so I don't need the visual reminder to...

more confirmation that banners just flat out broke: when I switched to "brief" , the notifications it neglected to show me pushed through, even from a few hours ago. Messages I didn't even know I missed. This is very frustrating
