Because of the open system of Android, dodgy apps can get posted on the Play Store before it gets checked and taken down. That's why its always a good idea to have an AV installed on your device. Posted via the Android Central App

Thanks for pointing that out. All this time I was running on ART. I enabled it before rooting & installing Xposed and didn't know it reverted back to Dalvik. Posted via the Android Central App

Yes. You don't need root to use Greenify but there are some features like automated hibernation that only works on root.

I understand what you mean. Its what happened with my HTC One M7. At first I used a case but eventually I took it off because the phone looked better & felt better w/o the case. With the G3, I'll be using a case because I want to keep it in good condition so that the resale value would be better. :)

I also have the Amplify mod installed. Btw, I'm running Xposed on ART.

First few weeks were mediocre: 2-3 hours of Screen On Time. Now I get average of 4 hours. Not sure if its because I rooted my phone & installed Greenify or that the battery just needed time to calibrate or break in.

Try the Quickpic app. If that doesn't help you, try using Nova Launcher. You can set any image as wallpaper any size or orientation you want.

105F on idle and 140-178F when gaming? It sounds like you got a lemon. If it keeps doing that I suggest you return your unit while you still can. When my phone is idle the temp is about 80-90F and when I play games the highest it goes is like 105-110F depending on the game.

It's always best to have an AV installed on your Android device even if you're not rooted or only downloading apps from the Google Play Store. A lot of rogue/malicious apps get posted before they are checked and taken down. I also use CM Security. Been using it for a few days now after...

Like what meyerweb said, if you're rooted use TitaniumBackup and freeze the bloatware apps. If you're not rooted, you can turn them off or install Greenify.

Re: Favorite Launchers I'm also using Nova Launcher. Been using it since I first switched to Android back in 2012 and my phone was the HTC One X+. Best launcher IMO in terms of options, features and usability.

Used Dalvik for a few days then read about an article advising the switch to ART. Been using/running my G3 on ART since and no complains here. Performance is good, scrolling and other stuff are smooth and battery life is good.
